Motorcycle Rally? I'm going to be attending my first motorcycle rally this summer in Hollister. I'm not wanting to look like a dork, get in too much trouble and just have a fun time. Any advise other than not wearing $800 of HD clothing, riding a Screaming Eagle V-Rod with the factory hard bags (ugh!) and having on a pair of Converse sneakers with shorts? If you live in the SF Bay Area, you may have seen this piece of work. As far as my bike goes, I picked up a Harley Fat Boy and I'm loving it. Also, I will be going to the 105th party at the MoCo this summer.
Australian travelling to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally? Just working on the details of going to the Sturgis Rally this year and was after any advice such as best place to fly into, bike hire companies, which camping grounds are the best, etc. Anyone with any opinions or suggestions would be great to hear from. Have posted both in Motorcycle area and in travel so no need to tell me I'm in the wrong place.
How does a town of 6,700 people support an influx of over 500,000 for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally? It seems like the infrastructure, businesses, and services of the small town of Sturgis couldn't possibly support over a half-million people. How is it possible for anyone to get anything accomplished? For example, how is there any room on the roads to drive, or space on the sidewalks to walk? How do people buy food, gas, or supplies? How do people get medical services? Do the locals put their normal lives on hold during the rally, because everyday activities are nearly impossible? Thanks!

motorcycle rally games? I am looking for REAL motorcycle games for an event rally coming up in July. I need suggestions for games to occupy part of the day. ie... Last year, riders with their women would ride under a hanging hot dog to see if the passenger could get the hot dog with their mouths.
galveston motorcycle rally? I know the motorcycle rally was going to be halloween weekend this year, but since Ike went through Houston and Galveston I am assuming the motorcycle rally is going to be canceled. Does anyone know from Galveston if its going to be canceled or are they going to try to clean up so they can still do the rally?
Sturgis motorcycle rally? My hubby and I were set to go out on a plane in Rapid City S.D> and were delayed for two days so we attended two days of the sturgis Motorcycle rally and had a blast. Does anyone know how many motorcycles they think were there this year? We saw thousands and the noise was deafening. I am definitely going back next year.
Sturgis Motorcycle Rally? Sturgis Motorcycle Rally? My husband just bought a Harley. Its nice and I enjoy riding it occasionally. We are planning on renting a car and driving to Michigan where my hometown is. My husband hates the drive so we compromised and we are planning on a side trip to Sturgis to appease him. He wants to stay overnight but go to the rally for the good part of the day. I am not that into the whole motorcycle scene and we are now arguing because he says I will have fun and theres lots to do besides look at motorcycles and listen to country music....ugh. I am starting to dread this trip already. If there are ladies out there who feel like I do, and you have been to this rally, are there other things to do besides look at motorcycles and everything having to do with motorcycles? I need to show my husband proof that staying at this rally for 8 hours would be a waste of time and boring. Thanks... * 48 minutes ago * - 4 days left to answer. Additional Details This trip was planned months ago to see my family and we only have one week. I only see my family once a year and we live 30 minutes from his. I am willing to go to the rally, I just think spending 8 hours there will be horrible for me.
Motorcycle ride rally- Against illegal immigration!? Check out this website! http://www.21stcenturypaulrevereride.us/ Just imagine 1,000 to 10,000 motorcycles circling your state capitol demanding a stop to the illegal immigration invasion of America. They ride into 48 state capitols this summer to show you HOW to stop the invasion. Fly Old Glory from the back of your bike to show your colors! This is going to be BIG! The ride began in Denver on May 29, 2006 and ends in Washington, DC on August 12, 2006 with a massive motorcycle rally at the capitol steps. Also check this out: http://www.numbersusa.com/index
Would anyone who has been to the Sturgis Bike Rally recommend it to someone new to riding? I have the opportunity to go to the Sturgis Bike Rally in South Dakota this year with a few friends. If you have gone to the motorcycle rally would you reccomend going? What are your experiences? Money is getting tight for my wife and I due to some unexpected things and I wondering if I need to skip this trip? I have been planning, saving and preparing for this trip for 6-7 months. I would like to go but just need some TRUE and NO - BS experiences from being there. We do need to keep answers clean and nice as this is an open forum.
Has anybody ever been to Sturgis Motorcycle Rally? What's the hype about it?? Every year on I-29 North in Northwest Missouri, there are hundreds of cyclists heading up that way to the rally..I enjoy watching them, but I always wonder what keeps them going back.... the point is, I want to understand......That is why I am asking...yeah, maybe someday I might venture there, but until then, I like to know the reason why others find it so interesting to be there every year. william, -- then I would venture to say you can't tell me cause you don't know either.
Has anybody ever heard of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally? I live in Sturgis and have for about the last 12 years, every year hundreds of thousands of bikers and vendors and just random passersby are drawn to this weeklong event (more like 2 weeks if you ask me with all the crowds). My opinion of this rally is very harsh and I don't like having to adjust my life around this event that I don't even want to be a part of anymore. I know you are saying why don't you just move away and I would although it is not that simple, my whole family including my wife's family live here and life would probably be made hell for me because it would be my idea to move. I just want everyones opinion of this event positive or negative and if you have even heard of it.
Sturgis South Dakota Motorcycle Rally......? Did any of you get to go to the Motorcylce Rally in Sturgis South Dakota? I did!!! It was soooo much fun! We did other things too, and my whole family got to meet John Walsh from America's Most Wanted in person while he was filming a show out in Deadwood about a 12 year old who got kidnapped from there. He introduced himself to me and then came up to me again when my kids were standing there and we got pictures of him!!! If any of you went please share what you did that was fun!! Didn't anybody out there go this year???
Having a Vintage Motorcycle rally with live bands for a fundraiser. Which option to you prefer? I am part of the committee for the 2nd Annual Vintage Motorcycle Days coming to Gateway Canyons Resort in Gateway, Colorado May 22nd. The event is a fundraiser for Western Slope Honor Flight, sending World War II vets to Washington DC to visit the WWII Memorial. The event has vintage bikes coming in from all over the country. This part is free... free to the public, and free to those wishing to showcase their bikes. Only cost is if you want in on the judging. The second aspect is this: Live music. We have rented the amphitheater at the resort, and have two bands, the Desert Flyer Band, as well as Huey, Dewey and Louie (50's music) coming in, plus..... Our headliner is Ryan Shupe and the Rubber Band. Two options: The amphitheater holds roughly 500 people, not including the general "area" which can accomodate a larger number. Would you rather A) Pay $25.00 a ticket and have unlimited draught beer from Budweiser, and keep the amphitheater limited to those who purchased the $25.00 tickets? or B) Have the amphitheater open to anyone, but charge an inflated price for beverages.... such as $4.00 for a draught beer, $2.00 for a fountain soda, etc.... Prices sound high, and they are, but I personally am out $7,000.00 for the cost of the bands and the sound production company, and need a way to make a return on my investment. Which option, A or B, would be the most appealing to you if you were going? Thanks.
How can I hold my own motorcycle rally? I've been wanting to go for a long ride. I was on this website- http://www.rebel250.com/ I ride a Rebel, and after hearing about their "Rebel rallies," I decided I wanted to go. My parents won't let me. How could I plan one? What goes on at one? What do I need to do? I have no idea at all. I know how to get the word out, I just don't want a lot of bored bikers on my hands. Especially after they've ridden hundreds of miles to see what I was up to...
my husband doesnt want me to go with him and his buddies to a motorcycle rally.? all of my husbands friends are single except him and maybe one other. when i asked if my husband wanted me to go with he kind of shruged his shoulders and said, uh...yeah. so that tells me that he does not, but doesnt want to come out and say it, cause he still wants to go. so i asked him why he didnt want me to go he said it was because he thought i would be bored. we have gone to MANY events like thisin the past and i have never been bored. i just dont know what to do, should i insist on going, or just let him go alone. for one, my husband has some what of a wondering eye, but has not acted on anything yet, and secondly there ARE other girls going, they just aren't girlfriends of the other guys, we are all just friends.
