Why do motorcycle rides makes me sleepy? Just curious, everytime my fiance takes me out on the back of his motorcycle I find myself instantly wanting a nap. This never happens in the car, only while on the back of the motorcycle. Maybe I find the ride relaxing? Maybe it's because I remain in the same position and movement is so limited? What's your opinion? Has anyone else ever experienced this? "Why do motocycle rides 'make' me sleepy?" Sorry for the typo, I just got off the back of the motorcycle and I'm a bit tired!
Are scooters welcome at motorcycle charity rides? I see that most motorcycle charity rides are centered around Harley Davidson (or v-twin cruisers). Very few are advertised as "Riders on all makes and models are welcome". Are scooter and other non v-twin bikes welcome at these events.
know of any scenic motorcycle rides in the NE Ohio area? I took a trip to California & rented a Harley recently. There were some GREAT routes to cruise around on out there! Nice turns, mountains, great views, & minimal traffic. I live in the Cleveland area & am relatively new to riding. I have a nice Harley & want to find similar routes in this area. Any ideas? BTW, I am talking about nice country-side rides, not stuff in the city. I like Lake Rd. out toward Vermillion, but it is so straight it gets boring I like some twists 'n turns. There are alot of bikers out this way, somebody has got to know of a great scenic route!
Girls like getting rides on a motorcycle? In Highschool, do girls like riding with guys on motorcycles? What do they prefer, car or motorcycle. My friend rides his motorcycle to school and his gf likes riding with him. Do they like regular street bikes like Ninja, or Harley's or what haha. Just wondering.
Boyfriend giving other girls motorcycle rides? My boyfriend has a few 'chick' friends, a couple of which are flirts. I know at least one constantly bugs my boyfriend about giving them rides on his bike with him, and I'm sure he has. I'm not really sure if I'm comfortable with this. Is this inappropriate on his part, or am I being overly protective?
An 80's movie where a cross dresser or transsexual rides a motorcycle? I'm trying to remember the name of a movie I saw on daytime TV as a kid. It was a pretty strange plot. The 'hero' was a guy who had some memory loss and a hidden room underneath his bed, the 'villain' was a cross-dresser or transsexual who rode a motorcycle, and I think ended up dying by being thrown off a dam? Any ideas?
Anyone know of a good motorcycle riding group or club in Illinois? I've been riding for two years now. I only have one buddy who rides and we don't hang out too much so I'm always looking for people to ride with and hang out with. I'm a member of the Patriot Guard but was wanting to join more a a motorcycle riding group or club that does long rides, fun events, hang out, party, etc. Anyone recommend one?
How to find out who offer Motorcycle Demo Rides? I am fully licensed and have full required gear, I was wanting to demo new bikes to see what I want to buy for next season, and don't want to buy something that I don't like to ride. So how do I find out (besides having to go to each dealer to ask) who and when demo rides are offered? I am in Fort Worth, TX if that matters.
How does your country's police force control motorcycle-riding criminals? The soaring cost of gas has pushed the sale of motorcycles here in Manila and its suburbs. It didn't take long for criminals to discover motorbikes are also excellent getaway rides. We have bag/purse-snatchers, muggers, carjackers even political assassins - all riding on motorcycles. Our local police officials are in the end of their wits how to deal with this new phenomena. Any suggestion? I should add that traffic in Manila is always crazy, so cops in cars are no match to these thugs. Also there so many sidestreets for them to disappear in. Besides most motorbikes look the same and it would be impossible to stop every single one that look similar.
How do I get a motorcycle license if I don't know anyone who rides? I know how to ride, but I've never been licensed. The North Carolina DMV website said I have to have a licensed motorcyclist with me in order to go to the DMV to take the driver's test. I'm new to the area and don't know anyone who rides, so that complicates things. Does anyone know if there is a way around this rule?
I want to take my cat on motorcycle rides with me. Is this wrong? I have a big, gorgeous Maine Coon cat. She's got a wonderful personality, and quite different for a cat. She likes to be outdoors during the daytime and follows me everywhere, no matter what I'm doing. I also have a Ducati motorcycle which I love to ride. My cat LOVES the sound of it, even though it's loud. She jumps up on the gas tank when I'm getting ready to go for a ride and I nearly have to pry her off. When I put her in the house she seems really upset, and she'll be howling when I leave. As an experiment I put a nice piece of carpet on the gas tank and she jumped on and rode with me around the block and loved it. I found a company who made a helmet for her and paid big $ for it. I also made a little safety harness for her. The point is that my cat LOVES riding with me and jumps on the bike the second I start it up, but I'm getting some rather annoying remarks from more than just a few people about taking the cat on my rides. Suggestions? To sgallus: I forgot to mention that I found a pair of swimming goggles which were MADE FOR A DOLL. With just a minor modifiication they turned out to be a purrrrfect fit :) Also fitted her with earplugs. The Ducati's fairing shields her almost entirely from the wind... BTW I'm a very conservative rider.... no knee-dragging around curves.
How to improve upper body strength for motorcycle riding for women? Me and my girlfriend is learning how to ride on a motorcycle and my guy friends tell me to exercise our upper body. Now what kind of exercises can we do that will help us? And in doing so, we don't want to look like a body builder either, but just to improve our arms and strength when riding.
How well do electric heated vests work for cold weather motorcycle riding? I'm a motorcycle commuter, and I'd like to be comfortable on my fully faired maxi-scooter down to about freezing. I just don't know if the electric motorcycle vests or jackets really work, or if they work fast enough to actually help me--my commute is only about 15 minutes. I do get cold easily but ride fairly often when the temperature is in the 40s--I just bundle up. Thanks.
