motorcycle helmets? i noticed that some people that wear motorcycle helmets wear helmets that dont cover the face. it looks like a ww2 german army helmet. is this safe to have on when going on the freeway?

Motorcycle Helmets...? Do you think that is should be law for people to wear motorcycle helmets? Or should it be up to the rider whether or not he wants his brains scattered all over the road? This is just one of those things that confuses me..why would someone rather spill his brains all over the road or mess up his hair? I ask becasue I saw a dude riding a corch rocket on the highway going like 80 and no helmet and swirving in and out of traffic.

What do I need to know about motorcycle helmets? I'm signing up for a rider's safety course to get my motorcycle license next month. A helmet can be made with a neck brace fitted on as a one piece design. This will protect the rider from serious neck and spinal injury. Do you think laws should be inacted to make neck braces mandatory on all motorcycle helmets?

Why did some states change their laws for the requirements of motorcycle helmets? A few states changed their laws from being required to wear a helmet while operating a motorcycle to being required to wear a helmet when what is usually under 18 years of age. Why? What influenced their decision? Was it because they simply didn't want to wear a helmet? What about unintended concequences? Also, why would they remove the helmet laws for adults but leave the requirement for minors? Was there a specific reason?

What happens to damaged motorcycle helmets? I'm looking for a couple to use as the base for costume robot helmets, not for the road, and plan on cutting away quite a bit of the mass, so them being damaged is a problem. Why dont people wear motorcycle helmets in their cars? The race car drivers use them. I dont understand why they are not a requirement when driving. Wouldnt this drastically cut down on injuries?
